Czech Employees Working Abroad and Their Knowledge of the German Language

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to assess the German language skills of Czech citizens who have or used to have experience in working in a German speaking country. The bachelor thesis focuses on the method of learning German, how important it was to learn the German language at a primary and secondary school, if these people had attended any language courses and how much they need the German language for their job. The introduction of the theoretical part of the thesis contains information about the number of Czech people living and working abroad, the countries they work the most and about the most common jobs they do. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis is formed by a questionnaire which is focused on abovementioned issues regarding the language skills of the Czech people working abroad. The conclusion of the thesis is the evaluation of the abovementioned questionnaire and the delimitation of the areas of interest for the development of the vocabulary and their comparison with up-to-date coursebooks. There are also topics that are important for getting a job in the German speaking countries.

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the work migration of Czech students. The first chapter is focused on the possibilities of working abroad for and describes both advantages and disadvantages of four main programmes, which can be used. The second chapter analyses the most favourite destinations and describes their specifics.The third chapter evaluates results of the online research and also presents the experience of four students with working abroad.
